In Los Belones village there are plenty of Restaurants and Bars including Via Romana,
Albatros, Terraza, Hermitage, Bar 68, Paras, Oasis and many many more.
Also Cabo de Palos is a working fishing harbour with fish reataurants a plenty. This is a Spanish Sunday Lunch favorite. There is a large market 10am-2pm to browse locally made goods and then on for lunch at the main harbour.
Mar de Crystal has a superb beach to spend the day at with a couple of nice little bars along the front.
La Manga Strip have some nice little places to eat with fabulous sea views, the port Thomas Maestre has quite a few restaurants. The best choice is along the left hand side of the harbour as the food and quality is much better. Great for a sunset glass of something chilled.
Los Alcazares back towards the airport has a 3 km Esplanade and beach with numerous restaurants and bars to stop and refresh at. Try Lunch at the Club Nautico.
The Historic city of Cartegena(20mins drive) is actually New Carthage where Hannibal set off on his Elephants to conquer Rome. The Roman invasion is celebrated each year in a big way. When visiting for the first time, follow the signs for the Puerto and when you reach the old submarine on your left follow the signs for parking underneath the restaurants. From here you can explore on foot the Calle Mayor where all the shops are located. Enjoy a drink along the harbourfront or one of the many tapas bars and restaurants in the town. There is also a club nautico with terrace which is open to all.
A free bus service from the club to the flagship El Corte Ingles store runs from the owners club on a Wednesday. Places must be pre booked at the desk in the Hyatt hotel foyer.
On the way into Cartegena on the right is the new Parque Mediterrano with a big shopping center.
Murcia City (40mins drive)has a great selection of old and new restaurants and shops to enjoy a great day out. This is a cultural must but remember they Siesta between 2pm and 5pm and all the shops are closed. This means they reopen at 5 and stay open later to enjoy the coooler night air and shopping that is Spain |
